What To Do About Healthcare?

Did you have health care through your employer and now are unsure what to do? You can continue coverage you had under your previous employer through a program known as COBRA. There are certain rules you must follow and the coverage is usually only provided for 18 months, but in certain instances may be extended up to 36 months. You can also apply for health insurance through your spouse’s plan, have your children covered under your state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), receive a tax credit for your health insurance payments, or seek health care through one of the many federally funded free clinics through out the U.S. To learn more about your options, check out:

According to the Washington Post…

  • Barbara Sheperd, a librarian in Michigan City, Ind., says an article in a
Matthew Lesko newsletter led her to a state program that gave her elderly mother
a low-interest loan to put a new roof on her house.
  • And then there’s the Zufall family, who are dairy farmers in Lisbon, N.Y. Two
years ago, they bought three of Matthew Lesko’s books and a DVD called " Free
Money for Everybody." From the DVD, they learned of a local government program
that gave them $12,000 to help pay for a gravel walkway for their cows.
